Nothing can better convey, describe and illustrate the Hispanic culture than the art of Flamenco.
Hot, passionate, generous, sad, colorful, Flamenco is an expression of the body and mind, it tells the story of Spain and more precisely the region of Seville, Cadiz, in the south.
For 5 days, BOZAR is decked out in the red and gold colors of Spain, a deliciously intoxicating plunge into the world of Sevillanas and flamenco and takes you on a journey dotted with gypsy notes, wonderful dresses, concerts and experiences for the old and the youngers.
Dancer Anabel Veloso takes children (ages 4 to 12 and their parents) into the rich world of flamenco. This interactive performance invites you to discover this typically Spanish dance through the four seasons of a tree.
Flamenco has a living tradition that dates back to ancient times (18th century).
Flamenco is a popular artistic expression of oral tradition articulated around three poles: the chantcante, the dancebaile and the guitararetoque. It is a highly codified music that is performed through a wide range of types of songs or dances called palos.
Flamenca in Sevilla (Plaza de Espana).
It is first of all a dance of emotion that requires a total immersion of the soul and the body in the proatica of this art to express all the force of the human feelings and the culture of the south of Spain (the gaditana region - Jerez de la Frontera in particular - is the cradle of flamenco).
Irene Alvarez
This dance is extraordinary, it takes hold of the body, from the fingertips (the "Pitos" is the name of the snapping of the fingers in Flamenco) to the ground with the typical iron studded shoes (Zapateados is the name of the snapping of the feet on the ground that respond to the chords of the guitars).
