Dansaert district, power up
It's been a long time since the fame of this iconic district of Brussels has traveled beyond our borders.
Antoine Dansaert is the district of paradoxes, of improbable associations, its history is very much linked to the development of Brussels, nicknamed "The Little Chicago" in its early days, the district has been totally transformed since the 80's to become today a breeding ground of creativity and notably a mecca of Belgian fashion and design recognized worldwide.
This nickname of "Little Chicago" has been replaced by another one, much more valorizing and representative of what this atypical place is today, the "fashion laboratory".
Under the impulse of Sonja Noel, who joined recently our group of Insiders (and we are so proud about it!) and who opened the first multi-brand boutique on rue Antoine Dansaert in the mid-1980s (STIJL Woman (1984), STIJL Men (1985) and then STIJL Underwear (1986)), Sonja laid the foundations for the revival of this neighborhood, which has become, 40 years later, an international reference for fashion design.
Belgian fashion has its landmark, its stylish boutiques, its experts, its places to share, its showrooms, and it's often in the Dansaert district that it happens, but it's not only fashion that reigns here...;
there's the pleasure of meeting, of sharing in a warm, authentic district, the gastronomy is incredibly present and qualitative, it's a perfect district to stroll around, even without a precise goal, just to waste time in a pleasant way, with friends or alone.
In short, we can write for hours about this district, tell all the stories of the world that revolve around it, this place is special, a village in the city, with its narrow streets, its dead ends that hide unsuspected places, we come as we are, we meet all social origins with one watchword, be happy the time you get there.
Note (and not to be missed!), every 1st Sunday of this summer, the Antoine Dansaert district will offer entertainment and other festivities, more info HERE!
