Dear Tintin...

Tintin - Immersive experience - Tour&Taxis until 7 of January.

"Dear Tintin,
Much like all celebrities, you're well-known to countless people, yet it isn't always a two-way street.
However, for me, you were a constant presence during a significant period in my life, particularly my childhood.
We had a standing date every evening, just as my parents would announce bedtime and remind me to prepare for the school day ahead.
It's clear that you were responsible for my many groggy mornings, as I often spent too much time reading your adventures before drifting off to sleep, hoping to experience similar escapades in my dreams.

Dear Tintin... LB

You were not just a role model for me, but for millions of children, demonstrating that you didn't have to resemble a warrior to stand up to the bad guys.
You showed us that honesty ultimately triumphs, and, most importantly, you sowed the seed of adventure and wanderlust in my eight-year-old mind, inspiring me to be just like you. Today, I find myself sharing some of your qualities, and I still wholeheartedly endorse your way of doing things and how you treat others.
Your absence is deeply felt, not only by me but by everyone of my generation.
We long for those times, which you're inextricably linked to—a period that those under 40 cannot truly fathom.
I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the creative mind who conceived and brought you to life, our Brussels-born illustrator, Hergé, who enabled you to embark on your greatest adventure: conquering the world!
In the end, I must say thank you for all that you've done for me.

Your lifelong admirer,
Chris"

I must confess that I no longer read the adventures of that fearless young reporter born in Brussels today, for several reasons.
Firstly, I've read all of his albums a long time ago, except for the very last and unfinished one, "Tintin and Alph'Art."
Secondly, I'm no longer the same age, and everything sort of comes together to paint the picture.

In Brussels, Tintin fans are numerous, and many come to the capital to relive where it all began. For those who wish to delve back into his world of intrigue and adventure and reconnect with the other characters of this worldwide saga, we recommend visiting the "Tintin - The Immersive Adventure" exhibition, open until January 7, 2024, at Tour & Taxis (GPS location)!
