Imagine, draw, cut, create... talks about home fashion

Let's talk about national fashion, its designers, its styles.
Talking about fashion is like talking about art, there are all the possible colors, all the conceivable features, we speak first of imagination, of pencil strokes, and of creation, the style depends on the designer.
We present you some of these designers in an editorial line dedicated to this wonderful Belgian creativity, we will give the floor to our friend and Insiders, expert and especially lover of Belgian fashion, the director of the house STIJL, iconic stores of fashion creation and Belgian designers.

With Sonja Noel, we highlight 4 characters, 3 of them are part of the "Antwerp Six", Dries Van Noten, Marina Yee, Ann Demeulemeester & Toos Franken.

Dries Van Noten

Marina Yee
"Darkness, mystery and a strong female image are central to this artist. For the past few years Yee has been taking a lot of time to live a more tranquil life, to mature in her artistic experiments and also find her own way. Nonetheless she always stayed a fashion designer. She kept designing, making or sketching things for herself. She kept observing the world, the fashion world.

Now Marina Yee has brought her world alive through her newest collection.
STIJL was the first store to ever buy her collections and since then kept track of what she was up to, which resulted in a great and loyal friendship between Sonja Noël (owner of STIJL) and Marina Yee.
Our Marina Yee collection is more than just fashion and more than just art. We built a podium in our window with her art. Different colors, fabrics, the genesis of upcycling, unique collector’s pieces, couture, hand embroidered, Yee’s own boots, etc…you can find her story in our store.".

Ann Demeulemeester

Toos Franken
"We would describe Franken’s collections as classic and minimalistic, but with a contemporary twist. She started her career in fashion at the renowned Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp.

Toos Franken produces exclusively in Belgium, everything is designed and manufactured on Belgian soil only. Furthermore Franken obtains a unique position in the fashion world by creating and drawing the patterns for each design herself. Toos Franken definitely makes an exceptional contribution to a women’s wardrobe. Therefore we have no doubt that Toos Franken belongs in our store!".
