I talk to you about Malta
Malta in Bloom: A three-day garden escape rooted in culture, beauty, and slow luxury.
If you're looking for a Mediterranean escape that blends history, serenity, and refined elegance, Malta offers a rare kind of magic.
For three unforgettable days, I explored the island through its most poetic lens: its gardens. From blooming terraces to cliffside views, each stop had a different story.
Here's how to experience Malta in full bloom.
Where to stay?... at Corinthia Palace Hotel!
Located in the heart of the island, just minutes from Valletta, the Corinthia Palace Hotel is a sanctuary in itself.
Once a 19th-century villa, it’s now one of Malta’s most iconic luxury hotels.
Surrounded by beautiful gardens and timeless tranquility, it's the perfect base for an itinerary rooted in calm, culture, and curated beauty.
And when I say beautiful gardens, I am referring , of course, to San Anton gardens, located just 3-4 minutes away from the hotel. A must see if you are staying there.
- DAY 1
Valletta’s green heritage & baroque grandeur
Grandeur and so it begins - start your trip at the peaceful Msida Bastion Historic Garden, a serene escape with panoramic views over the harbour, where you’ll learn more about the former residents of Malta and their ancestors - very interesting if you’re into history and culture.
Then head to the Argotti Botanic Gardens in Floriana, home to Malta’s national herbarium and an impressive collection of Mediterranean flora. For lunch, dine al fresco at Rampila, nestled in Valletta’s ancient fortifications.
Don’t miss the 4PM cannon salute at Upper Barrakka Gardens, followed by a visit to the awe-inspiring St. John’s Co-Cathedral. The Cathedral itself is not very big, but very lovely to visit even though there is quite a long queue...
Wrap up the day with a refined dinner at Verbena, where herbal elegance and local flavors take center stage.
- DAY 2
Cliffs, culture & countryside
Start your morning at the Blue Grotto, where sea-carved arches reflect every shade of turquoise.
I must say, I woMadliena loved a boat ride to explore the magnificent natural wonder up close. Continue your tour to Rabat and explore the golden streets of Mdina, Malta’s former capital. Though the “Silent City” no longer lives up to its name, Mdina retains an undeniable charm.
Pause for a moment at the majestic city gate — and for fellow Game of Thrones enthusiasts, imagine this as the iconic entrance to King’s Landing.
A gateway where fiction and history blur beneath golden stone. Now let’s continue to Dingli Cliffs for breathtaking views (and a tragic story, but I will let you discover that on the spot) before heading to Ta' Čičivetta Farm.
Lunch under olive trees here is more than a meal, it's a moment.
End your day at Madliena Lodge, where culinary artistry meets hilltop charm.
- DAY 3
Serenity, symbols & the sea
Begin at Buskett gardens, Malta’s only natural woodland, then stroll through the geometric grace of the Chinese Garden of Serenity in Santa Lućija.
In the afternoon, take a self-driving tour of the Three Cities with Rolling Geeks, then enjoy a boat ride in Marsaxlokk, a fishing village painted in every color of calm.
Close your journey with dinner at MUźA Restaurant, where food meets art in Valletta's cultural heart.
Malta is truly the it-destination for people searching tranquility, a premium experience and an escape from the concrete jungle!
