Light from above
Have you ever noticed that regardless of the illustration, a good idea always materializes with a glowing light bulb above the head... and here I was, seeking illumination to write this article about chandeliers!
In reality, there are only two different ways to talk about this iconic interior decor object.
Either you are a specialist, like a designer or another artisan who technically and artistically masters the subject, or you're anyone else who has decided to immerse their attention in this fascinating world of grand ceiling chandeliers.
So, from this second perspective, one of discovery, tastes, and enthusiastic study of the subject, I will write and present photos.
The chandelier takes its place on the ceiling, always has, or else it loses its title and becomes a sconce or lamp.
On this point, there is no alternative. Its role is not only to showcase itself and play a full part in the overall decoration but also to balance the whole and spread light.
Chandeliers have existed since ancient times, but I won't dwell on them in that era. They were limited to a few pieces of wood adorned with candles, all hanging from a rope on the beams of churches or castles.
They became a symbol of wealth and power during the time of kings.
In modern history, they almost disappeared as they were sought to be integrated into the ceiling in the numerous circles of minimalist design trends of the late 20th century!
What we observe is that the chandelier has evolved by following and utilizing the innovations of its two components, the body and the light. The rest is a matter of time, artistic choices, technology, and decoration.
Apart from some ancient creations, especially from the era of aristocratic and bourgeois chandeliers adorned with crystals, gilding, and precious stones, it's in our time that the world of chandeliers becomes marvelous.
Today, no serious interior decoration is complete without considering the role to be assigned to the chandelier.
There's no lobby, main hall, or living room project without focusing on the possibility of imprinting a unique style by creating a custom chandelier hanging above our heads.
