My stay in paradise...

A novel from a Tunisia' lover, Alain Tholl de l'Enclos.

Perhaps you might think of Tunisia as a predictable destination, but allow me to take you on a journey to an extraordinary place.
Because this southern land offers more than just golden sand beaches, azure seas, and basking under the scorching sun on endless coastlines.
Tunisia is not a singular experience, but a diverse tapestry woven from its architecture, landscapes, customs, renowned thalassotherapy, and its rich gastronomy featuring local and regional cuisines.
Here, you'll encounter panoramas reminiscent of Switzerland, the Amalfi Coast in Italy, or at times, the Corsican countryside or the southern Ardèche mountains when venturing off the beaten path. It's a feast for the eyes, captivating hikers and wanderers alike.
Having had the opportunity to stay there, I feel compelled to share a true gem with you.

My stay in paradise, ATDE

Located just a stone's throw away from the town of Korbous, a city once frequented by affluent Carthaginians seeking the warm waters of its springs, Korbous, known as Karpis in ancient times, still bears witness to their presence through archaeological remnants. For me, it was a delight to indulge in the warm spring waters just steps away from the Mediterranean during a seven-day retreat at the prestigious Royal Tulip Korbous, a 5-star hotel where contemporary architecture merges with Moorish influences, and where beige and gold elegance adorn sea-view lounges and an intimate bar where one can unwind in the evening.

The suites and rooms are adorned in vibrant shades of blue reminiscent of Sidi Bou Saïd.
A pool fed by thermal water at 34 degrees Celsius in winter provides minerals and trace elements, transforming into seawater in summer to offer refreshing dips. Every detail is designed for comfort. Upon arrival, I dreamt of wellness treatments and gastronomic delights, and I was not disappointed.
First stop: 'Les Eaux de Caris' thalassotherapy center, spanning nearly 3700 square meters. After a medical consultation, during which various treatments and massages were prescribed by the center's physician, I embarked on a week of diverse experiences, from Ayurvedic massages that rebalance energies on physical, mental, and spiritual planes, to oriental rituals purifying body and mind.

These were followed by hydro-massage baths infused with various scents and essential oils, not to mention seaweed wraps for skin toning and marine mud for joint relief.
The week culminated in a hammam session with exfoliation to rid the body of accumulated impurities.
Let's talk about gastronomy now. It's on par with the finest restaurants in Paris or Brussels, whether experienced through buffet offerings or à la carte selections. I had the pleasure of discovering and savoring local and regional dishes reinvented by a talented chef.
