Carving slopes under the sun...

It's official – the ski season of 2023-2024 has kicked off! Time to check the gear, starting with the suit, thermal leggings under the pants, cozy thick socks, gloves, a soft balaclava under the helmet, long-sleeved shirts – basically, everything that shields from the cold during the exhilarating descents and the never-ending chairlift rides.

Speaking of the time spent not skiing, there's another pure pleasure besides carving down the slopes – it's the joy of gazing at the landscape in the profound silence of the snow-covered mountains, the rhythmic clicks of the chairlift, and if there's a chilly breeze, only the sun and its powerful rays make the moment perfect.
Skiing is a fantastic activity, at least for those who are aficionados, and in Brussels, we are a multitude who adore the ambiance of snowy getaways to our favorite resorts (around 350,000 trips per year!).

Personally, I'll be skiing with a view of the sea... Yes, indeed! Full sunshine, let me introduce you to my favorite resort (and the LB team's favorite too) and three others that guarantee not only a stylish and lively ski trip but, most importantly, one under the glorious sun!

SIERRA NEVADA

GRENADA - ANDALOUSIA, SPAIN

This is where I ski every year! Located in the heart of Andalusia, just a few kilometers from the beautiful city of Granada and its sublime Alhambra, the Sierra Nevada resort is probably the only ski resort in the world where you can ski with a view of the sea (Isola 2000 above Nice is also a really cool resort!).

The resort is very well organized – you arrive by car and park in a huge underground parking lot located right beneath the resort, providing access to all facilities, shops offering top-notch rental gear, and countless Spanish and English restaurants and pubs.
For accommodation, I recommend the Vincci Rumaykiyya hotel – it's all about wood, comfort, a superb hotel right at the foot of the slopes.
