Le Chef & the 82, united by the perfect note

Alain Altinoglu studied at the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse in Paris, where he now teaches conducting.

He has been music director of La Monnaie since 2016 and since 2021 also of the Sinfonieorchester Frankfurt.
Alain Altinoglu regularly leads renowned orchestras like the Berliner Philharmoniker, the Wiener Philharmoniker, the Koninklijk Concertgebouworkest, the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks, the London Symphony Orchestra, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Münchner Philharmoniker and also the large Parisian orchestras.

This year, the La Monnaie Symphony Orchestra celebrates its 250th anniversary, let's just say, a quarter century!
A symphony orchestra is first and foremost an incredibly complex tool whose very existence depends on knowing how to decode the language of the notes placed on a score, one day, by a brilliant man, who will have imagined how each instrument, each of its side, will be able to create his own path to accompany others and together become a symphony played by 80 musicians...

Throughout 2022 season, La Monnaie/De Munt invites you to celebrate this quarter of a millennium dedicated to classical music.
Whether composed by the orchestra, which displays an impressive discography, or transcribed with the baton by the conductor, it is through 4 concert dates that everyone will be able to witness the magic and the power of these thousands of different notes and yet perfectly played together.
