So, I don’t know about you, but the moment I hear the words hidden treasure, secret ancient map, and pirates, I’m hooked.
I feel the pull of adventure start to tingle, that little ocean breeze brushing against my writer’s instinct… and it doesn’t take much more for my pen to set sail in search of a story — the kind that begins on a wild, untouched island, where, somewhere deep within its labyrinth, a legendary treasure lies buried.

A treasure hidden away from the world by a grizzled old pirate, heavy with secrets and sins, who took care to mark its exact location on a forgotten map… tucked into the pages of an old, dusty book just waiting to be opened.



Did you know that if you count all the “lost” treasures in shipwrecks, buried wartime loot, hidden personal fortunes, or stolen riches mentioned in historical accounts, we could be talking about thousands of treasures still out there — behind ancient walls, under exotic stones, or somewhere deep beneath the sea?
According to Erick Surcouf, a descendant of the famous French privateer and corsaire, there are still thousands of undiscovered treasures in the world today — at least twenty of which are believed to be of exceptional value.



Among the most legendary: The Spanish galleon Nuestra Señora de Atocha, loaded with gold, silver, and emeralds, which sank off the coast of Florida in 1622. Part of its treasure was recovered in the 1980s… but a huge portion remains lost.
Blackbeard’s treasure: Edward Teach, better known as Blackbeard, is said to have buried an immense fortune somewhere in the islands near North Carolina or the Caribbean.

The 1715 treasure fleet: A dozen Spanish ships, carrying new world riches back to Europe, swallowed by a hurricane off Florida's coast.
Or the myth of Pitcairn Island and the saga of the Bounty, just another tale that fuels the legend of hidden treasure — and inspires some to search the globe in pursuit of fortune.



These stories don’t just lure brave adventurers into chasing fate; they’re also told on stage, brought to life on screen, and reinvented in books and films.

Robert Louis Stevenson’s timeless masterpiece Treasure Island sets sail as a dazzling new musical, adapted by Christopher Delarue (book & lyrics) and Shay Alon (music).
