When light awakens the soul of Brussels...
After captivating more than one million spectators and illuminating some of the world’s most majestic cathedrals, LUMINISCENCE arrives in Belgium for the very first time, settling in the heart of Brussels to unveil the hidden soul of one of the country’s most remarkable landmarks.
Rising above the city for nearly eight centuries, the Cathedral of Saints Michael and Gudula stands as a masterpiece of Brabantine Gothic architecture—a powerful symbol of faith, artistry and heritage.
Construction began in the 13th century and continued for more than two hundred years, shaped by generations of craftsmen and artists who patiently sculpted its towers, stained-glass windows and soaring vaults.
Dedicated to Saint Michael, protector of the city, and Saint Gudula, a deeply rooted spiritual figure in Brussels’ history, the cathedral embodies the very spirit and memory of the capital. Within this extraordinary setting, LUMINISCENCE offers a breathtaking tribute to a living monument.
Through a seamless fusion of 360° video mapping, historical narration and live music, the cathedral is transformed into a canvas of light and sound.
Thanks to a complete 3D modelling of the building, luminous projections follow every architectural detail with striking precision, enveloping walls and vaults in a 50-minute journey of visual and sonic wonder.
Beyond its artistic brilliance, LUMINISCENCE carries a profound commitment to heritage preservation.
A portion of each ticket sold is dedicated to the conservation and enhancement of the host monuments.
To date, more than one million euros have already been reinvested in the restoration of historic sites, ensuring that these architectural treasures continue to inspire future generations.
