The classical part of me

Part-time ballerina, 2 times a week, from first steps to pointe!

What a wonderful idea to highlight what is probably the most powerful, useful, and effective ingredient for bringing a huge dose of fun, joy, and energy into life—dance!

All types of dance are worth practicing. Letting yourself be carried away by a melody, a rhythm, and dancing together in front of the mirror, performing a choreography—there is truly nothing wiser, believe me, than deciding to add this character to your personal repertoire.
Especially that ballerina within you, the one that is filled with grace and waiting for an opportunity to shine!

You can count on my absolute support in this, and I also ask you to trust me. I’ve been dancing for a long time, in an academy where I joyfully immerse myself in several disciplines: modern, flamenco, and above all, classical ballet, my favorite, several times a week.
Dance has transformed my life in every aspect—my mood, my energy, my relationship with my body, and even my resilience. Sometimes, to achieve a bit of grace on the dance floor and to spin without faltering, you need to be very persistent and work hard!

Dance also helped me overcome a small issue I had with shyness, something I had dealt with my whole life. Sharing the pain of sore toes in pointe shoes with my fellow dancers during classes, and stepping onto the stage to present our work to the audience, has truly boosted my confidence.
Classical ballet, therefore, is the perfect starting point for this journey, with the aim of turning you into a dancer in life. Several times a week, devote your body and soul to moving, jumping, standing tall, reaching upwards, lifting your leg, pointing your toes, achieving that graceful hand movement.
And, little by little, let your life be filled with creativity and the rewarding experience of spending hours alongside classmates who, in some cases, will become friends. With them, you’ll discuss dance long after practice, extending the joy even further.

Taking care of yourself—paying attention to what you eat, taking natural vitamins, and getting enough sleep (see my previous article on well-being)—is something we owe to our bodies.

But dance is much more than just a bonus; it’s truly essential to dance through life. For those, like me, who are moved by classical ballet and beautiful music, head to one of Brussels' academies and rise up onto your pointe shoes!
